Time-lapse confocal images of four cells migrating
in living slices of cerebral cortex from newborn ferrets.
The temporal sequences are depicted in false color with the final
position shown in red. The diversity of migratory pathways
may disperse young neurons widely from their sites of origin.
These neurons migrated approximately 10-25 micrometers per hour.
