The University of Iowa provides, free of charge, the use of the Community of Science [COS] Expertise Database. This database serves as an electronic 'Research Directory' for research interests and activities of faculty, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and other research staff with terminal degrees [or on track to receive one].

The benefits of maintaining an updated profile in the COS Expertise database through Workbench are:
  • Provides weekly email funding alerts of current funding announcements. These alerts are based on terms entered in the 'Expertise' field of your profile.
  • Generates a customized curriculum vitae and converts information into the NIH PHS 398 biosketch form.

You can access the Community of Science website here. Contact Becky with questions about creating, maintaining, and updating your COS Expertise profile.
