The Midwest Drosophila Conference is being held in Allerton, IL on October 3-4, 2008.

Schedule for Conference: Talks will begin at 12:30 PM October 3 with check-in and registration, and end at 2:00 PM on October 4.

Talks will begin at 1:45 PM on Friday. There will be a mix of 30-minute and 20-minute talks grouped into four sessions. Check the schedule for the amount of time you are allotted and plan your presentation to allow 3-5 minutes for questions following your talk. Bring your talk on a flash drive or CD and there will be a computer available to display your slides. The talks will wrap up at 12:30 on Saturday, followed by lunch.

There is still an opportunity to give a brief presentation (The Goal: two minutes and a single slide) during the Data Blast on Friday evening. I am particularly interested in presentations on tools and resources common to Drosophila researchers in disparate fields. If you have a particular method you have perfected, a web resource where you are the "go-to person" or any other trick where you are the expert, let me know to include you in this session. You can also give a prelude to your poster, give a brief synopsis of your research, or advertise a position in your lab.

The poster session will be held on Friday evening accompanied by a cash bar. Display boards for the posters have the dimensions of 4' x 4'.
